Estrenada hace tres décadas, la serie de ocho partes “Anthology” de los Beatles reinventó el documental musical. En lugar del tratamiento estándar centrado en un narrador externo y comentaristas, “The Anthology” presentó a John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison y Ringo Starr, quienes narraron con franqueza su propia historia, con todas sus complejidades y contradicciones. Presentó a los Beatles a nuevas generaciones de espectadores y oyentes y marcó el inicio de una era creativa y comercial que continúa hasta nuestros días.

Ahora, The Beatles Anthology regresa en su forma definitiva para una campaña de lanzamiento global integral: en pantalla, en disco y en formato impreso.

Serie documental “The Beatles Anthology”

Ahora es una serie de nueve partes que incluye un nuevo episodio que se transmitirá exclusivamente en Disney+ a partir del 26 de noviembre.

La emblemática serie documental “Anthology” de los Beatles ha sido restaurada y remasterizada.

Los ocho episodios originales de la serie narran la legendaria aventura que comenzó en Liverpool y Hamburgo y que pronto cautivó al mundo. Reviven historias atemporales: la Beatlemanía, la revolucionaria llegada de la banda a Estados Unidos, su papel a la vanguardia de la contracultura de los años 60, su exploración espiritual en la India y su posterior separación. Y a lo largo de todo ello, el hilo conductor: la música, siempre la música.

Ahora hay un Episodio Nueve completamente nuevo, que incluye imágenes inéditas detrás de escena de Paul, George y Ringo reuniéndose entre 1994 y 1995 para trabajar en “The Anthology” y reflexionando sobre su vida compartida como The Beatles.

La restauración ha sido supervisada por el equipo de producción de Apple Corps, trabajando con los equipos de Wingnut Films y Park Road Post de Peter Jackson junto con Giles Martin, quien ha creado nuevas mezclas de audio para la mayoría de la música presentada.

Colecciones musicales de la antología de los Beatles

Restaurado y ampliado a cuatro volúmenes: 12 LP de vinilo, 8 CD y colecciones digitales disponibles el 21 de noviembre

La vertiente musical de The Anthology Collection , originalmente seleccionada por George Martin y ahora remasterizada por Giles Martin, se presenta en tres álbumes dobles de material inédito, una historia en la sombra de la narrada en los documentales. Ofrecen una fascinante mirada al desarrollo inicial de las canciones que se convirtieron en obras maestras grabadas que resuenan con la misma fuerza hoy que cuando se grabaron por primera vez. 

También incluye una novedad importante. Anthology 4 , recientemente editada por Giles, incluye 13 demos y grabaciones de sesión inéditas, además de otras grabaciones raras. También incluye nuevas mezclas de los exitosos sencillos de The Beatles asociados a Anthology : “Free As A Bird” y “Real Love”, ganadores del Grammy, revitalizados por su productor original, Jeff Lynne, con voces de John Lennon desmezcladas.

El vídeo musical original de “Free As A Bird” también ha sido bellamente restaurado: Míralo ahora.

 

Ambas nuevas mezclas se presentan junto al sencillo número 1 más reciente de la banda en el Reino Unido, “Now And Then”, ganadora del Grammy en 2023 y la última canción de los Beatles. Los tres sencillos se crearon a partir de maquetas caseras rudimentarias que John grabó en la década de 1970, y que posteriormente se completaron con partes vocales e instrumentales grabadas por Paul, George y Ringo.

Entre todos los álbumes de Anthology , hay 191 canciones que Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMG lanzará el 21 de noviembre para compra digital y streaming, y en cajas de lujo de 12 LP en vinilo de 180 gramos y 8 CD. Ambas cajas incluyen las notas originales de las portadas de Anthology 1 , 2 y 3 ; la nueva Anthology 4 incluye notas de las canciones escritas por Kevin Howlett y una introducción recopilada a partir de entrevistas grabadas en 1996 con Derek Taylor, amigo íntimo y asesor de los Beatles. Las ediciones exclusivas de The Beatles Store para ambas cajas incluyen cuatro tarjetas fotográficas de 30 cm de la banda en un sobre numerado.
